    The West Delhi district authorities Sunday bought 2 night markets in Nangloi to be shut for flouting various COVID-19 security standards including on social distancing and face mask, authorities said. The District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) in West Delhi provided an order Sunday, directing for closure of Punjabi Basti Market and Janta Market till November 30, a senior district authorities said. “The federal government regulations for using face mask, keeping physical distancing and other such COVID-19 security procedures were being flouted both by the vendors and shoppers in the 2 rehri-patri (street side) markets in spite of duplicated guidelines and cautions by authorities,” he stated.

    The district authorities, accompanied by police and North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) groups, performed inspection to ensure the closure of the marketplaces and removal of infringements in both the marketplaces. Over 200 suppliers handling different day-to-day usage items used to set up shops in the markets that opened at night hours daily.
