The latest teardown from iFixit reveals how big the iPhone 12 Pro Max cam is
The iPhone 12 Pro Max is Apple’s biggest iPhone ever, with a 6.7-inch display that boasts a cam system our reviewer called “among the most positive smartphone video cameras.” In its newest teardown, iFixit demonstrates how big this impressive video camera really is compared to other iPhones.
The main wide-angle sensing unit “dwarfs the iPhone 12’s sensor,” iFixit says, can be found in around 47 percent bigger. But it has the very same 12 MP resolution as the smaller sized design. The 12 Pro Max’s sensor-shift image stabilization system– found on a lot of DSLR video cameras– adds bulk to the big primary video camera, iFixit found.
The 12 Pro Max’s L-shaped battery is the largest amongst all current iPhone designs, weighing in at 14.13 Wh, compared to the 8.57 Wh in the mini and the 10.78 Wh in the 12 and 12 Pro. However iFixit keeps in mind that’s in fact slightly smaller than the 15.04 Wh pack found in the iPhone 11 Pro Max.
The iPhone 12 Pro Max– the most expensive iPhone on the marketplace today beginning at $1,099– “is perhaps Apple’s finest iPhone-related achievement this year,” iFixit states. The gadget adds “demanding 5G tech without any obvious compromises to other components.” Take a look at iFixit’s full teardown of the iPhone 12 Pro Max here.
