Stalin demands Anna varsity V-C’s suspension

Stalin requires Anna university V-C’s suspension

DMK president M.K. Stalin on Sunday wondered why the State government had not suspended Anna University Vice-Chancellor M.K. Surappa, even after a retired judge was selected to probe problems of financial and administrative abnormalities versus him.

In a declaration in Chennai, he said the extension of Mr. Surappa’s period as the Vice-Chancellor, “without any remorse”, was a farce.

He asked why the government had waited till now, despite the fact that the claims versus him were brought to its notification in February. “What is the offer in between the federal government and Mr. Surappa? There is a feeling that the questions is nothing however an eyewash, given that he has actually been allowed to hold the Vice-Chancellor’s post,” Mr. Stalin said.

Remembering that the erstwhile DMK federal government had right away suspended Anna University of Innovation (Coimbatore) V-C Radhakrishnan when there were accusations versus him and another former Anna University Vice-Chancellor Mannar Jawahar was suspended during the previous AIADMK regime, Mr. Stalin wished to know why Mr. Surappa must be an exception.

” The federal government need to immediately suspend Mr. Surappa,” he said.
