    Naik, a Goa MP, was seriously injured while his wife Vijaya and an assistant died on Monday when their cars and truck satisfied with an accident near Ankola in Uttar Kannada district while returning from Karnataka.

    Goa Medical College and Medical Facility (GMCH) on Thursday said the condition of Union AYUSH Minister Shripad Naik has improved and he is being offered “moderate physiotherapry” now. In a medical publication released in Panaji in the evening, Dean of GMCH Dr Shivanand Bandekar stated, “Naik is far better than the other day and his general condition is enhancing.” Naik, a Goa MP, was seriously injured while his spouse Vijaya and an assistant passed away on Monday when their vehicle met an accident near Ankola in Uttar Kannada district while returning from Karnataka. He was admitted to the state-run GMCH in Goa.

    ” All his crucial specifications are stable. His high blood pressure is typical. He still continues to be on High Circulation Nasal Cannula (HFNC) oxygenation system,” Dr Bandekar said. Naik’s urinary and blood tests performed on Thursday likewise revealed normal results, while his pulse rate was 84 per minute, he stated.

    The minister’s injuries are recovering well and he was offered “mild bed side physiotherapy and was made to sit”, the Dean stated. “His left lower limb physiotherapy was done and chest spirometry started. He was made to sip water sitting bed side,” Dr Bandekar included.

    Spirometry test is performed to assess the condition of lungs. A joint team of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, and GMCH is monitoring the minister’s health.
