A 37- year-old rape survivor was apparently set ablaze here by the accused who was absconding for seven months, cops stated on Monday. The lady, her small child and the 28- year-old accused identified as Lekhraj Koli were hurt in the event and have been hospitalised, they said.
Koli, his two siblings, Ramesh and Manmohan, and their daddy Kanhaiya Lal were arrested by police and reserved under area 307 (attempt to murder) of the IPC. SHO of Kotwali Police Headquarters Yeshwant Yadav stated that the woman had actually lodged a complaint against Koli, who is her neighbour, in April this year declaring that he had raped her in 2018.
On Saturday, the accused entered the lady’s house and set her on fire after pouring petrol over her. The female suffered 50 percent burn injuries, cops said.
