President Ram Nath Kovind on Friday asked individuals to take a willpower to become a light of hope and success for the poor, destitute and clingy this Diwali by sharing joy. In a message to fellow residents on the eve of Diwali, Kovind asked people to honour nature by commemorating pollution-free, environment friendly and clean Diwali.
” This festival, commemorated by individuals of numerous religions and sects reinforces the sense of unity, goodwill and fraternity amongst individuals of our country,” the president said. The festival inspires individuals to work for the service of humanity, he said. “Let us, on this celebration, resolve to end up being a light of hope and prosperity for the bad, destitute and clingy individuals of the society by sharing our happiness just as a lamp lightens many lights by sharing its light. Diwali is likewise a festival of cleanliness, so let us honour mother-nature by commemorating pollution-free, environment friendly and tidy Diwali,” Kovind said.
In his message, the president said, “On the auspicious occasion of Diwali, I extend my heartiest greetings and best dreams to all the fellow citizens living in India and abroad.”
