PM Modi to inaugurate 16 th edition of ‘Pravasi Bharatiya Divas’ practically today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas convention to be held virtually today. This is the 16 th edition of Pravasi Bharatiya Divas. Pravasi Bharatiya Divas convention is the flagship occasion of ministry of external affairs and provides a platform to engage and get in touch with Indian diaspora.
The primary intent behind this program is to encourage abroad Indians to be part of socio-economic development in India. Informing media in New Delhi, MEA Spokesman Anurag Srivastava said, the style of the convention is ‘Contributing to Atmanirbhar Bharat’.
” In view of the sentiments of our dynamic diaspora community, the 16 th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas convention is being arranged on January 9, 2021, regardless of the continuous COVID pandemic,” checked out a declaration from the Prime Minister’s workplace (PMO) on Thursday.
The Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas is kept in the country every year to sustain and nurture the cooperative relationship in between India and its diaspora, and to address the advancement challenges that the country deals with.
The convention will have 3 segments, the official statement checked out. It will also feature a keynote address by the Chief Guest, H.E. Mr. Chandrikapersad Santokhi, Hon’ ble President of the Republic of Suriname.
The PBD Convention will include 2 Plenary Sessions – ‘Function of Diaspora in Atmanirbhar Bharat’ and ‘Confronting Post COVID Challenges-Scenario in Health, Economy, Social and International Relations’.
” The first Plenary on Function of Diaspora in Aatmanirbhar Bharat, will include addresses by External Affairs Minister and Commerce and Market Minister while the 2nd Plenary on Dealing with Post COVID Difficulties – Scenario in Health, Economy, Social and International Relations, will be addressed by Minister of Health and Minister of State for External Affairs,” the PMO release read.
The Representative stated, President Ram Nath Kovind will deliver the valedictory address. The names of the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Awardees for 2020-21 will likewise be announced on the occasion.
