    Mathura (UP): A day after a big crowd of enthusiasts collected outside the popular Banke Bihari Temple here in offense of COVID-19 standards, the authorities on Sunday ordered closing of the temple till further orders. The orders were offered by the civil judge (Junior department), officials stated.

    Commenting on the development, temple supervisor Munish Sharma stated the action has been required to develop a concrete online system for registration of devotees.He stated the temple was opened for devotees on Saturday after being closed for over seven months due to the coronavirus pandemic scenario.

    But a big crowd of people had to wait outside the temple on Saturday due to a technical snag in the online website implied for registration of devotees, the official said.Sharma stated all COVID-19 security precautions were taken inside the temple complex, but it became hard to follow the very same outside the complex where a big crowd had gathered on Saturday.

    The temple has again been closed for fans from October 19 till additional orders for guaranteeing an appropriate online registration system, security of enthusiasts and adherence to coronavirus norms inside and outside the temple complex, he said.Only the priest, staff members on task and employees of agency used by the temple authorities for repair will be enabled to go into the shrine till additional orders, officials included.
