Man ‘assaulted’ by mob for ‘taking’ autorickshaw passes away in Delhi
According to the authorities, they took him to a medical facility after being handed over by a group of people who had assaulted him when they captured him taking the car.
A 24- year-old male gave in to the injuries he presumably got after being battered by a mob who captured him stealing an autorickshaw in Kabir Nagar area here on the intervening night of November 10 and 11, authorities stated on Thursday.
The mob had handed accused Mesar over to authorities, which arrested him after first aid at a local hospital and produced him in the court of the city magistrate on Wednesday, it included.
He was sent out to judicial custody, but as his condition weakened, he was required to a Delhi hospital, where he died around midnight. A judicial inquiry has been started into the death, police stated.
According to the cops, they took him to a health center after being handed over by a group of individuals who had attacked him when they captured him stealing the car.
The implicated was then detained in connection with a case registered under areas 379 (theft) and 411 (dishonestly getting taken property) of the Indian Penal Code at Welcome Police Station on the basis of the statement of one Hira Lal Kamra.
On November 11, Mesar was produced in the court of Metropolitan Magistrate Mayank Mittal who remanded him to judicial custody, following which was sent out to Mandoli Jail. He, however, was referred to Hedgewar Medical facility from Mandoli jail, however he passed away around midnight.
