GOP Sen. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska on Saturday said that will vote to validate Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court, throwing aside her firm opposition to pushing through a candidate before the general election.
” I have no doubt about her intellect,” she said from the Senate floor. “I believe about Judge Barrett’s judicial personality. I have no doubt about her ability to do the task … I have concluded that she is the sort of person we want on the Supreme Court.”

Murkowski stated on Saturday that she still did not support the vote being held so near to the election, but that she wasn’t on a winning side of the procedural fight.
” I do not think that progressing on a nominee simply over a week gotten rid of from a pitched presidential election … will help our country end up being a much better version of itself,” she said.
Murkowski then said that she would support Barrett due to her judicial approach.
In 2018, Murkowski was the only Republican politician senator to vote versus the election of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.
Barrett is set to be validated on October 26, a little over a week before the November 3 general election.
