Green audit in govt. offices from tomorrow
Green audit, accreditation, and grading in government workplaces in the district will get under way on Monday.
Mayor Arya Rajendran will inaugurate the green audit in federal government offices at the Panchayat Directorate in the general public Workplace on Monday.
District panchayat president D. Suresh Kumar will inaugurate the green audit for regional self-government organizations at Athiyannoor block panchayat on Tuesday.
The Haritha Kerala Mission and the Suchitwa Mission together are leading the audit. The examination team will consist of officials from the Health, Local Self-government, Rural Development departments, and from the Pollution Control Board. Marks offered after the assessment will form the basis for grading to issue green certificates for workplaces.
The team will look into activities connected to reduction of waste in offices, avoiding usage of prohibited plastic and non reusable partition of naturally degradable and non-biodegradable objects, usage of recyclable or multiple-use things, toilets with standard facilities, natural vegetable garden or floral garden, elimination of e-waste and broken down furniture, and release of a nodal officer for implementation of green protocol.
The green audit activities would conclude in the district on January 20, Haritha Kerala Mission district planner D. Humayun stated in a declaration here on Saturday.
