The orders were provided by Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, a day after the High Court directed the State government to prohibit the sale and use of firecrackers. The High Court had directed the federal government to ensure closure of all stores selling firecrackers throughout the State.
The Chief Secretary appropriately advised the Director General of Police, Fire Provider DG, District Collectors, Commissioners and Superintendents of Cops to take instantly guarantee closure of such stores. Action taken in this regard must be informed to the federal government by Monday, the instructions said.
The High Court also directed the government to attract the public through media– print and electronic– to restrain from rupturing firecrackers so as to prevent additional degeneration of air quality. Appropriately, the Details and Public Relations department was directed to develop awareness and publicise the restriction.
On The Other Hand, Telangana Fire Functions Dealers Association approached the Supreme Court looking for remedy for the restriction on sale of firecrackers.
