    New Delhi: In the middle of prevalent agitation versus the three central farm laws in Punjab and Haryana, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday asserted that the farmers’ well-being and the growth of farming sector in the state are his government’s leading priorities. Enlisting a variety of pro-farmer steps by his federal government in Uttar Pradesh, the chief minister stated his government ensured the crop procurement with no disturbance due to the coronavirus lockdown.

    Dealing with an online CII occasion, Aityanath pointed out that over 100 sugar mills functioned successfully in Uttar Pradesh following all anti-Covid precautions and procedures. The primary minister stated as the Rabi crop in UP prepared yourself for gathering amid the lockdown, the state federal government established 6,000 procurement centres to help farmers offer their fruit and vegetables and these centres worked successfully sticking to all precautions.

    He said these centres obtained 36 lakh metric tonnes of wheat. For the Kharif crop too, 4,000 procurement centres have been established, he kept in mind.

    In the next 4 years, the state government has likewise decided to build over 5,000 godowns at the grassroots level to store farm produce, he said.
