    Delhi Fire Department Getting Strange ‘Oil Rain’ Calls From All Over City

    Just as the drizzle began in the city on Sunday night, the Delhi Fire Department started receiving multiple calls reporting “oil rain” from all over the city and were examining, amid some roads being closed after cyclists slipped.

    ” We are receiving calls from all parts of Delhi about oil rain therefore far, we have actually reacted to more than 57 calls,” a senior Fire Department officer said.

    Another authorities stated that these calls were reported from all instructions, and started after the drizzle began at around 5 p.m.

    Police needed to close one of the roads causing Jamia Nagar opposite the Holy Family Medical facility in south Delhi after some bikers slipped on the road.

    The Fire Brigade was seen responding to one such hire nearby New Buddies Colony.

    A senior policeman stated that a call of oil spill was received after which the Fire Department was notified.

    ” Numerous cyclists slipped and fell on the roadway because of the slippery oil-like material spilled on the road. As a precautionary procedure, the Fire Brigade was called and the roadway was washed,” among the callers told IANS.

    ” Delhi Fire Service got an overall of 57 calls after rain, DFS reacted to all the calls and it seems that due to rain, dust and earth and other materials readily available on roadway caused some slippery materials and because of that vehicle drivers provided the call,” said Atul Garg, Director Delhi Fire Service.
