    A Chinese soldier has been collared by the army on the Indian side of the Line of Actual Control (LAC) south of Pangong Lake in Ladakh, the flashpoint of months-long border tension between India and China.

    A Chinese soldier has actually been captured by the army on the Indian side of the Line of Actual Control (LAC) south of Pangong Lake in Ladakh, the flashpoint of months-long border tension in between India and China.

    According to sources, the People’s Freedom Army (PLA) soldier was captured during the early hours of Friday. “The PLA soldier had transgressed throughout the LAC and was collared by Indian troops released in this location … The PLA soldier is being handled based on set procedures and situations under which he had crossed the LAC are being examined,” an official stated.

    This is the second instance of a PLA soldier being recorded on the Indian side of LAC in current months. In October last year, a corporal from the Chinese army was collared in Demchok sector of eastern Ladakh. He was returned to the Chinese military at the Chushul-Moldo border point after completion of rules 3 days later on.

    India and China have so far held multiple rounds of speak to deescalate tensions in the area as troops from both sides dealt with a freezing winter season in the mountains. Tensions skyrocketed in June, after soldiers clashed in hand-to-hand combat in the Galwan valley in Ladakh, abutting the Chinese-held Tibetan plateau.

    Twenty Indian soldiers were killed, with China suffering a concealed variety of casualties, and both sides increase their military existence, moving guys, weapons and products to the high-altitude desert region.
