Muzammil’s painting of Prithviraj Sukumaran and household, which was shared by the star on his Instagram deal with, wins hearts.

Behind the star couple are their kids, Indrajith and Prithviraj, with their respective spouses and Prarthana, Indrajith’s oldest daughter. A happy household portrait that Prithviraj shared on his Instagram handle with the significant ‘I wish …’

Actor Sukumaran died in 1997 and his portrait was digitally painted into a family picture that was developed by setting up different snaps of the family, which were all sourced and after that digitally painted as a composite work by architecture trainee Mohammed Muzammil.

Speaking over phone from his home in Perinthalmanna, Malappuram, the 22- year-old says that since then, he has been flooded with demands to develop such photos. “Prithviraj has never ever made it a secret about just how much he misses his dad and he has actually always talked about his adoration for him. So I questioned how it would be if Sukumaran’s picture might be digitally contributed to a family portrait. It came out rather well and I more than happy that Prithvraj shared it on Instagram,” he says.

He discusses that he had actually taken inspiration for the image of Sukumaran from a photo of Mammootty and Sukumaran that was taken some time in the late eighties.

” Once I had actually posted that deal with my social media pages, I got a number of requests to recreate (through digital art) household pictures by consisting of moms and dads and grandparents who may have died,” he adds.

The fifth-year student of Ranganathan Architecture College, Coimbatore, says he came across digital art while checking out different ways to upskill his style for sketching and painting.

His current works, which he has actually shared on his Instagram page @_muzu, showcase his creative method of recreating famous film posters and snaps of his preferred actors. For instance, the popular duo of Naadodikaattu, starring Mohanlal and Sreenivasan, has actually been reworked with Nivin Pauly and Aju Varghese in the iconic functions of Dasan and Vijayan. “I always feel that amongst stars today, rushing Nivin makes the ideal foil for jocular and bumbling characters played so well by Aju sir,” thinks the artist.

Another ‘what if’ photo is that of Mohanlal and Ranjini in a referral to their functions in the hit film Chithram The story was a catastrophe but the artist takes a leap of creativity to imagine the film’s ending on a happy note, therefore unifying Kalyani and Vishnu, the lead pair played by Ranjani and Mohanlal.

A poignant piece amongst his artworks is on Silk Smitha whose death anniversary falls on September23 A wistful-looking image of the actor with a descriptor, ‘I am a faded kite’, has a long note on the ups and downs of her life.

Some of his digital paintings, such as portraits of actor Anusree Nair, Anumol, Unni Mukundan and so on, are masterpieces that showcase his skill and aesthetic appeals.
